Lewiston Police Blotter for April 12, 2014

The following activity occurred Monday, March 31, to Sunday, April 6, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. LPD logged a total of 83 response calls during this period.

Monday, March 31

•3000 block of Louisiana Avenue, Town of Niagara, assist. LPD on location with Town of Niagara Police Department for a male. Subject left without incident.

•5300 block of Walmore Road, suicide. Male, 61, listed as victim; male, 16, listed as complainant. County coroner contacted. Report filed.

•1400 block of Pletcher Road, larceny complaint at a business. Statement taken from a male, 42, concerning electrical wire taken. Report filed.

•4500 block of Washington Drive, custody problem. Patrol spoke with a female, 27, and a male, 30. Couple had a dispute over their 3-year-old daughter. Female party provided paperwork and daughter turned over. Report filed.

•8500 block of Orchard Drive, check situation. All OK; subject left prior to patrol's arrival.

•5300 block of Military Road, Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center, check situation. Subject went into ER; patrol cleared.

•Saunders Settlement and Walmore roads, reckless driver. Niagara County Sheriff's Office located vehicle on Walmore Road. All OK.

•Dickersonville Road, property-damage accident - DWI arrest. Male, 48, reportedly backed out of a resident's driveway and into a ditch across the street. Driver arrested for driving while intoxicated and unsafe backing. Breath testing conducted roadside; results .12 of 1 percent. Follow-up blood alcohol content testing refused. Driver released on appearance tickets to Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•Niagara University campus, mental health response. Female, 22, taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Tuesday, April 1

•400 block of Center Street, open door. Patrol cleared building and secured. Owner contacted.

•Lewiston Queenston bridge, larceny complaint. Female, 18, reported a cell phone was taken while she was at work. Report filed.

•5000 block of Forrest Road, animal problem. Sick skunk reported; patrol dispatched same and disposed of.

•Unspecified location, arrests. Two juveniles arrested and family court paperwork issued.

•700 block of Oneida Street, officer requested. Female, 46, listed on call. Report filed. Follow-up at an address on the 4700 block of Lower River Road.

•22000 block of Upper Mountain Road, robbery at a gas/convenience business. State Police handled, assisted by Niagara County Sheriff's Office. LPD K-9 unit assisted on search for suspects with negative results.

•5100 block of Dana Drive, unwanted party. Female, 47, listed as complainant; female, 17 and male, 49, listed as persons involved. Patrol spoke with all parties. Report filed.

•Artpark, suspicious vehicles. LPD assisted State Parks Police.

Wednesday, April 2

•2800 block of Maple Street, disturbing the peace. Handled by patrol.

•LPD office, harassment complaint. Parties listed as a female juvenile and a female, 34. No further details.

•NU campus, harassment complaint. Male listed as complainant and male listed as suspect. No further details.

•I-190 and Witmer Road, unattended death. Call handled by State Police.

•Ridge and Model City roads, commercial vehicle/traffic stops. Patrol reported issuing a uniform traffic ticket to a driver for failure to stop at a red light.

Thursday, April 3

•5100 block of Bridgeman Road, alarm response. No key holder on scene; house secured.

•5900 block of Kline Road, dog bite complaint. Male, 42, listed as complainant.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara-Wheatfield High School, arrests. Patrol reported the arrests of two males, both 16, found in possession of "marijuana brownies." Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court.

•800 block of The Circle Drive, attempt to locate for North Tonawanda Police Department. Negative results reported.

Friday, April 4

•5000 block of Walmore Road, domestic. Parties listed as a male, 33; a female, 32 and a female, 51. Report filed.

•6800 block of Plaza Drive, Niagara Falls, K-9 track. Patrol assisted agencies in the pursuit of a white male following a robbery at a grocery/convenience store. Suspect listed as 5 foot, 11 inches, blue eyes, blond hair, with a black hooded sweatshirt and tan work boots, who fled on foot towards the Summit Mall.

•400 block of 23rd Street, Niagara Falls, arrest on warrant. Female, 51, arrested from earlier petit larceny charge. Arraignment at Lewiston Town Court and suspect to custody of NCSO.

•Erie County Holding Center, Buffalo, arrest on warrant. Male, 45, arrested from earlier petit larceny complaint on Center Street. Arraignment at Lewiston Town Court and suspect to custody of NCSO.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, two-vehicle accident-arrest. Statements taken from drivers. Male, 22, arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation, third. Arraignment at Lewiston Town Court, bail assigned at $1,000/$2,000 and suspect remanded to Niagara County Jail. Report filed.

•5500 block of Walmore Road, check welfare. Patrol spoke with a caller regarding a vehicle identification number and advised to call back the next day when sobered up.

Saturday, April 5

•Lower River Road, vehicle/traffic stop-arrest. Male, 38, arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated, speed in zone and failure to keep right. BAC reading, .22 of 1 percent. Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court and vehicle secured. Report filed.

•400 block of Center Street, intoxicated person at a bar/restaurant. Female, 30, listed as highly intoxicated, taken to Mount St. Mary's EM-Star by Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. EMS.

•Cayuga Street, officer requested. Caller reported signs knocked over; extra patrols requested.

•Upper Mountain Road, attempt to locate. Suspicious vehicle heading westbound; negative results on search.

•800 block of Center Street, intoxicated person at a gas/convenience business. Party took a cab home; all OK.

Sunday, April 6

•100 block of South Water Street, fight at a bar/restaurant. Victim did not wish to pursue charges.

•Garlow Road, suspicious vehicle at a gas/convenience business. All OK.

•800 block of Center Street, open door. Building cleared; patrol unable to secure. K-9 search conducted.

•South Transit Road, Lockport, robbery. Patrol reported two black males with a handgun. LPD K-9 unit requested for track; evidence located.

•Water Street, recovered property. Patrol reports finding "a party in a bag." Contents included one bottle of alcohol and one bottle of alcohol mixer. Report filed.

•800 block of Swann Road, vehicle in a ditch. Male, 57, arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation, third, and leaving the scene of an accident. Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•2900 block of Saunders Settlement Road, suspicious person. Subject described as a male, 18, wearing a black facemask and hoodie. Patrol reported all OK.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, vehicle/traffic stop. Male, 27, arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation and operating while the registration is suspended /revoked, and operating/permitting operation without insurance. Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•1500 block of Lake Road, citizen assist. LPD on location with State Police. Call handled.
