The Lewiston Democratic Committee has announced it will be honoring Town of Lewiston Supervisor Dennis Brochey as its Lewiston Democrat of the Year for 2014 at a brunch on Sunday, April 6, at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

The committee selected Brochey in recognition of his extraordinary and selfless efforts for the good of our community, including: the Red Brick Bench Press Competition to aid military personnel and their families; Women & Children's Hospital; Lewiston Kiwanis Club; and now, as supervisor of the Town of Lewiston.

Brochey will be honored that day at a brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the NFCC, 505 Mountain View Drive, Lewiston. All are invited to attend.

As part of the event, the committee will also again be collecting canned and/or dry food items and toiletries to help the efforts of "WNY Heroes," a group whose mission is to provide veterans, members of the armed services, and the widows and children of deceased veterans with access to essential services, financial assistance and resources that support their lives and sustain their dignity.
