Global Spectrum, the company managing Canalside's revitalized regional destination and entertainment district on the Buffalo waterfront, is opening the submission process for interested event planners, current and new, that wish to program special events at the facility for the 2014 calendar year. Event submission forms can be found at www.canalsidebuffalo.com/submit.

Global Spectrum is working in conjunction with the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and the Arts Services Initiative of Western New York in order to plan a well-rounded schedule of activities for 2014.

"On behalf of Global Spectrum, we are excited to enter the Buffalo marketplace and work with the ECHDC to release this event submission process to the general public," said Global Spectrum's general manager, Ryan Coate. "Together with ASI, we will work to program a variety of activities and special events that attract a diverse audience to Canalside. We look forward to working with current event planners and programmers who bring notable special events to Canalside, as well as additional event planners and programmers who want to host new events in the future."

Event submissions will be accepted through the Canalside website at www.canalsidebuffalo.com/submit on a rolling basis, although planners and programmers will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

All interested parties are invited to attend the Canalside event/programming information session at Helium Comedy Club (30 Mississippi St., Buffalo), at noon on Thursday, Feb. 27. At that time, Canalside management will welcome area stakeholders, special event planners and other interested parties to openly discuss ideas during an informative Q-and-A session.
