HARBORCENTER President John R. Koelmel today announced IMPACT Sports Performance will operate HARBORCENTER's 5,000-square-foot, high-performance off-ice training facility.

"We are excited to partner with Jason Jerome and IMPACT Sports Performance to provide elite-level training for athletes at HARBORCENTER," Koelmel said. "IMPACT is on the cutting edge of athletic training, and at HARBORCENTER the training staff will work with best-in-class facilities and equipment, adjacent to the ice rinks on the sixth level, to help athletes realize their maximum potential."

Jerome founded IMPACT Sports Performance, a subsidiary of Pegula Sports and Entertainment, in Boca Raton, Fla., and quickly established his facility as one of the top training destinations for high-level athletes at both the professional and amateur levels.

Jerome obtained a masters degree in sports medicine from the University of Miami and served as a core-training specialist for the Hurricane athletic department, working with numerous alumni from the NFL and Major League Baseball. His responsibilities included rehabilitating Olympic, professional and collegiate athletes in various sports, including football, track and field, hockey and volleyball.

In recent years, Jerome has spent time with different organizations in the South Florida area providing program implementation, injury prevention protocols and biomechanical evaluations for athletes of all ages and backgrounds. He will re-locate to Buffalo this spring.

"When athletes come through our doors, they will be stepping into a very intense, motivating environment, where our commitment is to maximize potential and performance," Jerome said. "Our philosophy is that proper training requires a serious, focused approach that is personalized to each athlete's strengths and individual performance goals. We help our athletes reach their goals by promoting high standards of competence, character and courage."

IMPACT Sports Performance differentiates itself by offering athletes high-quality instruction. Through a highly selective hiring process, IMPACT has put together a training staff consisting of some of the best performance coaches in the industry. IMPACT's coaches have trained some of the world's best athletes in hockey, baseball, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, track, soccer, swimming and lacrosse. The staff knows exactly what it takes, from a mental and physical standpoint, to play a sport at its highest level, and works to relay this valuable insight to their athletes. They take pride in preparing athletes for competition, to perform at their peak level.

Members of the IMPACT staff are medically licensed, certified athletic trainers, who bring an element of injury prevention to every workout. The staff works to encourage sportsmanship and character to make athletes into better overall individuals.

"This is not a traditional gym or fitness facility," Koelmel added. "Jason and his training team will partner with Kevyn Adams and his Academy of Hockey staff, as well as Nik Fattey and the Rinks at HARBORCENTER team, to create a development destination for all hockey players. In addition, IMPACT's certified athletic trainers, and strength and conditioning specialists, will also focus on working with professional athletes in all major sports, as well as collegiate and youth athletes who are committed to taking their performance abilities to the highest level. This is another important piece of the differentiating experience we will be providing to top athletes at HARBORCENTER."
