Earlier this month, State Assemblyman John Ceretto joined with friends and supporters in mid-winter salute to the Niagara Wine Trail. The Jan. 5 event at the River Oaks Golf Club on Grand Island featured several wineries, including The Winery at Marjim Manor, Vizcarra Vineyards, Long Cliff Vineyard and Winery, Midnight Run Wine Cellars, Victorianbourg Wine Estate and a Gust of Sun Winery, all of whom provided award-winning samples to visitors to complement brunch.

Ceretto commented on the positive impact of the Wine Trail, telling attendees, "The local wine industry is extremely important to our regional economy, providing jobs and strongly impacting our growing tourist industry. I pledge to do whatever it takes to ensure that the Niagara wine industry's rapid growth continues."

The assemblyman also spoke on the surplus New York state is now enjoying, noting when he first took office, taxpayers were facing a $13 billion spending deficit. Now, with a $2 billion surplus, Ceretto pledged increased efforts to relieve the tax burden for local residents.
