Lewiston Police Blotter for Dec. 28, 2013

The following activity occurred Monday, Dec. 16, to Sunday, Dec. 22, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. LPD logged a total of 99 response calls during this period.

Monday, Dec. 16

•Dickersonville Road, car-pole accident. Statement taken from driver; MV form issued and vehicle towed. Report filed.

•1700 block of Saunders Settlement Road, commercial vehicle/traffic stops. Patrol reported multiple vehicles inspected; six trucks were for Level 2 inspections. Three trucks were placed out of service for critical failures and five uniform traffic tickets issued.

•Robert Moses Parkway, suspicious person. Caller reported male dressed in camo with a gun in the area. Subject gone on arrival.

•Pletcher and Creek roads, disabled vehicle. Patrol reported a disabled Niagara-Wheatfield school bus at the location. Student passengers removed and vehicle towed.

•Addresses on the 800 block of Cayuga Street and the 4700 block of Jason Court, separate alarm responses. Locations secure.

•600 block of Onondaga Street, officer requested. All OK.

•RMP, suspicious person. Caller reported subject heading southbound in northbound lane. GOA.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, larceny at a gas/convenience business. Caller reported a black male stole a box of cigars. Store not pressing charges.

•2200 block of Upper Mountain Road, check welfare. Caller reported a 16-year-old male out of control. Subject left with his grandmother. Niagara County Sheriff's Office handled call.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

•Model City and Indian Hill roads, two-vehicle injury accident. Statements taken from drivers. Occupants of vehicle No. 2 taken for treatment. Report filed.

•Swann and Porter Center roads, property-damage accident. Call handled by patrol; report filed.

•400 block of 19th Street, Niagara Falls. Assists calls. LPD on location at two addresses with NCSO and Niagara Falls Police for execution of search warrants.

•200 block of North Seventh Street, larceny. Property returned to owner; all OK.

•2900 block of Birch Avenue, Town of Niagara, domestic. LPD assisted Town of Niagara Police on call.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

•Military and Witmer roads, warrant execution. Male, 28, arrested on a bench warrant for failure to pay fine. Suspect remanded to Niagara County Jail on $250 cash bail.

•2600 block of Ridge Road, burglary. Female, 60, listed as complainant and male, 28, listed as suspect. Patrol's report only.

•700 block of Center Street, suspicious person at a business. Male, 34, listed as person involved. All OK; subject was using Wi-Fi at business.

•700 block of Center Street, two-vehicle accident. Statements taken from drivers; no injuries or tows. Report filed.

•Lewiston sand docks, attempt to locate. Patrol reported a disoriented male, elderly, located by U.S. Border Patrol. Family member from Rochester contacted and responded.

•Garlow and Mount Hope roads, larceny. Caller reported Verizon phone wires cut and stripped for copper. Male and female, both age 32, listed as suspects, fled on snowmobiles. Investigation to continue.

Thursday, Dec. 19

•Addresses on the 1500 block of Upper Mountain Road and on the 1700 block of Mount Hope Road, follow-ups to above larceny on Garlow and Mount Hope roads. Patrol reported parties involved as hostile. Black wire coating observed by patrol. Investigation to continue.

•2600 block of Ridge Road, trespassing complaint. Property owner lives out of town; patrol to follow-up.

•4800 block of Eddy Drive West, check welfare. Crisis Services on location. All OK.

•4600 block of Creek Road, Lewiston-Porter Middle School, juvenile problem. Investigation to continue.

Friday, Dec. 20

•Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, hit-run accident. Statements taken from both drivers; patrol investigating. Report filed.

•1600 block of Mount Hope Road, harassment. Male complainant, no age, listed. Male, suspect, 50, arrested for criminal obstruction of breathing. Arraignment at Lewiston Town Court and suspect remanded to Niagara County Jail. Report filed.

•1300 block of Ridge Road, assist. LPD on location with NCSO for a drunk driving arrest.

•1500 block of Nesbit Drive, suspicious vehicle. Female, 39, arrested for driving while intoxicated. Arraignment at Lewiston Town Court and suspect remanded to Niagara County Jail. Report filed.

•1900 block of Main Street, Niagara Falls Police, warrant attempt. Male, 45, listed; negative results reported.

•4600 block of Creek Road, reckless driver. GOA.

•1300 block of Saunders Settlement Road, property-damage accident. Statements taken from both drivers. Male, 23, listed as driver No. 1 issued an appearance ticket for Lewiston Town Court for aggravated unlicensed operation. Report filed.

•800 block of Page Avenue, harassment. Handled by patrol.

•4900 block of Creek Road, alarm response. Homeowner on location; all secure.

Saturday, Dec. 21

•1900 block of Saunders Settlement Road, vehicle/traffic stop. Female, 34, arrested for operating while registration is suspended/revoked and operation while insurance has lapsed. Uniform traffic tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court and vehicle towed. Report filed.

•RMP at Niagara Falls City line, attempt to locate. Black Infiniti observed striking several curbs. State Parks Police located vehicle. Male driver, elderly, found to be OK to operate.

•400 block of Kenwood Drive, assist citizen, miscellaneous issues. Report filed.

•2400 block of Military Road, assist. LPD on location with Town of Niagara Police, NCSO and State Police for an alarm response at a jewelry business. Patrols found a broken glass door and evidence of a burglary.

•100 block of South Seventh Street, alarm response at a bank branch. Computer problems reported; all secure.

•400 block of Center Street, alarm response. Patrol met key holder; all secure.

•2100 block of Saunders Settlement Road, alarm response. Homeowner on location. All secure.

Sunday, Dec. 22

•Locations on Green and Mount Hope roads, Saunders Settlement and Miller roads, Upper Mountain and Susies Lane, Saunders Settlement and Garlow roads, Upper Mountain and Garlow roads, Moyer and Upper Mountain roads, Lewiston Road, Black Nose Spring Road, the 5800 block of Griffin Street, Lewiston Road, Swann and Dickersonville roads, and Dickersonville and Black Nose Spring roads, numerous weather related calls - including vehicles in ditches, wires on a vehicle, downed wires, trees in roadways, and road obstructions. All calls addressed by patrol and area responders.

•2200 block of Upper Mountain Road, burglary in progress. Patrol reported sounds of branches breaking, call weather related. All OK.

•Meyers Hill and Upper Mountain roads, fire structure. Patrol reported arching wires. All OK.

•Saunders Settlement Road, vehicle/traffic stop. Male, 28, arrested for aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone. Uniform traffic tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

•4300 block of Autumn Lane, EMS response. Patrol reported a male, combative on location. Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. EMS on location for transport to Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center.
