Lewiston Library January events, activities and programming

The Lewiston Public Library, 305 S. Eighth St., in the Village of Lewiston, announces the following programs, events and activities for the month of January.

•The library board of trustees will meet Monday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m. The Friends of the Library will meet Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 6 p.m.

•Qui êtes-vous? visits the library Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend a public viewing of the Canadian version of the popular genealogy show, "Who Do You Think You Are?" which will be presented in the community room.

Much of the program will be in French and Italian. Local researchers Peter Ames and William Seiner are both featured in this episode.

•The public is welcome to participate in a traditional Crokinole board game Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 6 p.m. at the library. Crokinole, which originated in late 19th century Ontario, is a popular sport among area Native Americans.

•Tail Waggin' Tutors, a reading program for ages 5 and up, continues at the library. All reading abilities are welcome. For more information, speak to Miss Ann in the children's room.

The library will be closed Monday, Jan. 20, for Martin Luther King Day. Regular library hours are: Monday-Tuesday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
