Tickets now on sale; all proceeds benefit Grammy Museum's education initiatives

CBS Interactive today announced the 2014 "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" concert will feature this year's breakout band, Los Angeles-based alt-rock quintet The Neighbourhood. Presented by Microsoft Surface, the official tablet partner of The 56th Annual Grammy Awards, the concert will take place Thursday, Jan. 23, at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. The concert will also feature the winning band from CBS.com's "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" contest as the opening act and elements of the performances will also be broadcast during "Grammy Live," a digital experience featuring streaming events and exclusive coverage around "Music's Biggest Night."

Tickets for the "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" concert are now on sale via AXS at www.axs.com/grammygigofalifetime. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the Grammy Museum's education initiatives.

The "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime's" headlining band, The Neighbourhood, is made up of Jesse Rutherford (vocals), Jeremy Freedman (guitar), Zach Abels (guitar), Mikey Margott (bass) and Bryan Sammis (drums). The five-piece band's members got their start as friends playing music together and launched the band in 2011. The Neighbourhood dropped their full-length debut album, "I Love You," to critical acclaim on Columbia Records in April. Their single, "Sweater Weather," rocketed to No. 1 on Billboard's Alternative Chart and is RIAA-certified platinum. The Neighbourhood is currently on tour with upcoming dates across the United Kingdom.

As part of CBS.com's "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" contest, fans will be able to vote for their choice of the show's opening band by visiting CBS.com/GrammyGig beginning Dec. 23. The winner will be announced Jan. 17, 2014, and flown out to Los Angeles to participate in Grammy Week events, culminating in the live performance as the opening act for The Neighbourhood in front of a live audience at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.

Clips from the "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" will also be broadcast during "Grammy Live's" digital coverage of the Grammys, which will kick off on Jan. 26.
