On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. the Village of Wilson will celebrate Christmas with its annual "A Very Country Christmas" event. Featured will be assorted activities for all ages and participants are encouraged to dress warmly, bring a smile and a carload of friends. "We want to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in style, country style, at 'A Very Country Christmas,' " said event organizer, Pastor Stephen Hay of Wilson First Baptist Church.

Activities include an assortment of great holiday festivities, traditional Christmas fare and much more. "The Giving Tree" is now in its second year and promises to be the biggest Christmas present exchange ever to take place in Wilson. Those attending are encouraged to bring a wrapped Christmas gift (up to $10 value) to Santa's Workshop (located the Wilson House). Folks who bring a gift are welcome to take a gift in exchange. Extra gifts will be donated to needy families throughout the region so please give generously.

Starting at 2 p.m., doors at the Wilson House will open for photos with Santa, offered free of charge, and continuing until 4:45 p.m. Guests will need to provide an email address to receive a high-resolution copy of their photograph with Santa.
