Sabres recall Adam, McNabb

Grigorenko returned to Sabres

Buffalo Sabres President of Hockey Operations Pat LaFontaine today announced the team has recalled forward Luke Adam and defenseman Brayden McNabb from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. LaFontaine also announced forward Mikhail Grigorenko has been returned to the Sabres. After complying with all guidelines in the collective bargaining agreement as they relate to player conditioning assignments, the NHL ruled against the Sabres' assignment for Grigorenko and the team respects the league's decision.

Adam (age 23, 6'2", 206 lbs.), who currently leads the Americans with 18 points (13 goals, 5 assists) through 15 games, was last called up by the Sabres on April 1, scoring one goal in his four-game stint in Buffalo. His 13 goals with Rochester this season have him tied for most in the AHL. In his 75 career NHL games, all with the Sabres from 2010-11 through 2012-13, Adam has tallied 25 points (14/11) and 28 penalty minutes. Drafted by the Sabres in the second round (44^th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Adam signed a one-year contract with Buffalo in July.

McNabb (age 22, 6'4", 207 lbs.), who currently leads all Amerks defensemen with 12 points (2/10) through 15 games, last played with the Sabres during the 2011-12 season. In 25 career NHL games, all with Buffalo in 2011-12, McNabb recorded eight points (1/7) and 15 penalty minutes. He set career-highs in all offensive categories, including goals (5), assists (31), points (36) and penalty minutes (50) while appearing in 62 games for the Amerks in 2012-13. He was drafted by the Sabres in the third round (66^th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Buffalo in May 2011.
