Marc M. Carpenter, a Town of Niagara councilman for 24 years, will seek re-election in November.

He is the endorsed candidate on five party lines: Democratic, Republican, Conservative, Working Families and Independence. He has been endorsed by the Niagara County Building and Construction Trades, Niagara County Deputy Sheriff's Association and UAW Region 9.

Carpenter, 63, and his wife, Gerry, have three daughters, Jocelyn, Jenna and Michele. A Town of Niagara resident for 40 years, he lives on Wildwood Drive.

He is a suggestion plan administrator for the GM Tonawanda Engine Plant and has been a UAW-774 member for 42 years.

"I believe being an effective leader, one has to have an open mind, listen to all sides and focus on positive results," Carpenter said. "Showing respect, compassion and honesty is what I believe I bring to the table. I also feel that a public office is a public trust."
