NT: Mayor Ortt to announce enhanced 'Thunder on the Niagara' event at Gratwick Riverside Park

Mayor Robert G. Ortt will announce the enhanced "Thunder on the Niagara" boat racing event at Gratwick Riverside Park during a Tuesday afternoon press conference.

Representatives from the Niagara Frontier Boat Racing Association and several other high-level North Tonawanda officials will join Ortt in announcing this free, family-fun event that is taking place at what is regarded as one of the most beautiful venues along the Niagara River. This event has been referred as "The fastest show on water," and several of the hydroplane race boats will be on display at the media event on Tuesday.

WHO: City of North Tonawanda Mayor Robert G. Ortt, a representative from State Sen. George D. Maziarz's office, Assemblyman John D. Ceretto, City of North Tonawanda Attorney Shawn Nickerson, City of North Tonawanda Clerk-Treasurer Scott Kiedrowski, Common Council President Rich Andres, 1st Ward Alderman Phillip ("Russ") Rizzo, Director of Recreation and Parks Patty Brosius, Twin City Community Outreach President Greg Lureman, and representatives from the Niagara Frontier Boat Racing Association.

WHAT: Providing details of the "Thunder on the Niagara" event, which is planned for Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18, at Gratwick Riverside Park.
