Wienckowski named to Memorial Medical Center Foundation post

A former Seneca Gaming Corp. executive has been appointed director of special events and projects for the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation.

Cheryl Wienckowski will coordinate fundraising and development activities and manage all fundraising and special events for the medical center said Ann Marie Tucker, Memorial's vice president for foundation and community relations.

Wienckowski's appointment is effective immediately.

"The Memorial Medical Center Foundation takes pride in producing first-class events such as The Premier dinner dance and the Niagara Cup Classic Golf Tournament," Tucker said. "Cheryl's background and experience will help us take those events to another level, while her leadership skills will bring real value to all of our fundraising efforts."

Wienckowski is a previous director of food and beverage at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel and was vice president of food and beverage at the Seneca Allegany Niagara Casino & Hotel. She also worked for then Delaware North Companies' Sportservice management team at Ralph Wilson Stadium, where she oversaw the operations of 164 luxury suites and all eight premium clubs, including the Jim Kelly clubs, Van Miller Club and Paul McGuire Club.

A former member of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce board of directors, she and her husband, Jim, reside on Grand Island.
