Get 'Safety Smart at Home'

The New York Power Authority will hold its "Safety Smart at Home" Sensational Saturday on July 13. The free event starts at 10 a.m. at NYPA's Niagara Hydroelectric Power Plant's free visitors center, the Power Vista, located at 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston.

Power Vista tour guides will lead guided tours throughout the facility and present Basics of Electricity shows. Helpful energy efficiency materials will be distributed and younger guests are invited to the Power Vista classroom for a film featuring Pumbaa and Timon, from the hit movie, "The Lion King," to learn how to be "Safety Smart at Home."

Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Power Vista's other attractions, including displays and interactive exhibits related to the production of electricity, energy efficiency and the area's history, plus spectacular views from the observation deck 350 feet above the Niagara River gorge. Parking at the Power Vista is free.
