Sheriff, Office for Aging on hand

North Tonawanda residents will have an opportunity to learn more about county government and services that impact their lives Thursday evening, when Legislator Paul Wojtaszek, R-9th District, hosts a town hall meeting.

Niagara County Sheriff James R. Voutour and Office for the Aging Director Ken Genewick will also be on hand to answer residents' questions at the meeting, which runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Rescue Fire Co. No. 5, 1241 Strad Ave.

The town hall will allow residents of Wojtaszek's 9th District, which is centered primarily in the northern and eastern parts of the city, to listen to an update on county government, as well as interact with the leaders of two agencies providing services utilized by many residents.

"Our goal is to make government more accessible, more transparent, more open," explained Wojtaszek, who also chairs the County Legislature's Public Works Committee. "We work for our residents, and they should have (an) easy format to get information and answers. The town hall meetings work really well for that."
