Imagination Station Child Care Center Inc. owner/operator Carla Fasso has always had a love for children, so opening up her own day care couldn't have been a better avenue to pursue her passion. Imagination Station, located at 902 Seneca St., in the Village of Lewiston, provides child care for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

Imagination Station is a large building that looks like a private residence on the outside, but is uniquely separated into different sections on the inside for different classes and age groups. Toddlers, or "wobblers" as Fasso likes to call them, are taught basic motor skills before the pre-K program begins.

Fasso's pre-K program is where children are taught beginning writing skills and where, she says, "The focus is on getting kids ready for kindergarten."

Fasso said she believes one of the center's greatest assets is its quality of care. She has a full staff of eight women, most of whom have been employed by the day care for more than five years. Prior to opening up Imagination Station, Fasso ran a latchkey program before and after school at the Lutheran Messiah Church.

Along with everyday care, Imagination Station also hosts a summer program for children ages 5 to 12. During the summer program, children often go on field trips - both educational and those that are just for fun. Past trips have included Sanger Farms and Adventure Speedway.
