In the past decade there has been an unthinkable amount of movies released. Sometimes it's hard to know which ones are going to be worth watching, and which you are going to wish you had never watched. So to help you out, here is a list of 10 movies released in the past 10 years that are worth your time:

1. "Once" (2007)

Starring: Glen Hansard, Marketa Irglova

 What it's about: The movie is about a vacuum repair man and busker (Glen Hansard) based in Dublin, and a florist who can't afford to purchase her own piano (Merketa Irglova). The two meet and discover that, musically, they make a great pair and start recording together.

Why you should watch it: It's charming, full of great music and it's set in beautiful Dublin.

 2. "Into the Wild" (2007)

Starring: Emile Hirsch, Vince Vaughn and Kristen Stewart

What it's about: A story of a college graduate (Emile Hirsch) who gives away all his money to charity and begins a journey hitchhiking through America until he reaches Alaska to live in the wild. Along the way he meets a number of interesting characters and the journey ultimately changes his life.

Why you should watch it: It's thought-provoking and makes you want to travel around this great country.

3. "The Dark Knight" (2008)

Starring: Christian Bale, Health Ledger

What it's about: A Batman movie and the sequel to Batman Begins, it finds the superhero, played once again by Christian Bale coming face-to-face with the Joker (Health Ledger) - his biggest nemesis yet. The Joker unleashes chaos across Gotham City and Batman must stop him.

Why you should watch it: Who doesn't love a good Batman movie? If that isn't a good enough reason then you should watch it just to see Health Ledger's incredible performance as the Joker (the last before he died).

4. "Argo" (2012)

Starring: Ben Affleck, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman

What it's about: "Argo" is based on true events that unfolded in the midst of the Iranian revolution in 1979. Militants take 52 Americans hostage in Tehran; six of them manage to escape. With the help of a CIA infiltration specialist (Ben Affleck), they devise a plan to escape the country before they are discovered.

Why you should watch it: An incredible story that is a must see! It's thrilling, suspenseful and entertaining.

5. "The King's Speech" (2010)

Starring: Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Guy Peirce

What it's about: After his brother abdicates the throne, Bertie (Colin Firth) suddenly finds himself king of England. He has suffered with a speech impediment all his life, so his wife hires an eccentric speech therapist to help solve his speech problems. This movie is based on a true story, and takes you on a journey of the king's quest to overcome his speech impediment and to lead his country.

Why you should watch it: This is a fantastic story based on real events. Besides, who doesn't like Colin Firth?

6. "The Social Network" (2010)

Starring: Jesse Einsberg, Justin Timberlake, and Andrew Garfield

What it's about: "The Social Network" is about the creation of Facebook and about its founder, Mark Zuckerberg (played by Jesse Einsberg). The movie takes you on the journey of how Facebook came into existence and the enemies Zuckerberg made along the way.

Why you should watch it: Most people use Facebook so it's cool to know the story behind it.

7. "The Prestige" (2006)

8. "The Black Swan" (2010)

Starring: Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis

Their rivalry turns into a twisted friendship, and Nina begins to become more in touch with her dark side, which threatens to destroy her.

Why you should watch it: This is no ordinary ballet movie, it's dark and intense but it will captivate you.

9. "The Departed" (2006)

A dirty cop working for the gang tries to keep his involvement secret. When both men realize the situation, they work to discover the identity of the odd man out before their own cover is blown.

Why should you watch it: This movie is thrilling but will no doubt leave you a bit puzzled, in a good way.
