Lewiston Garden Club offers scholarship

The Lewiston Garden Club is now seeking candidates for its $1,000 scholarship for 2013. To be eligible, the applicant must be a high school senior, either attending Lewiston-Porter High School or a Town of Lewiston resident attending another school outside the Lew-Port district. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to improving the environment and a strong involvement in community service.

Applications are now available in the guidance office at Lewiston-Porter High School. Further information may be obtained by contacting Barbara A. Carter, scholarship committee chair, at 716-54-8981. Deadline for submission of applications is April 30.

Lewiston Garden Club members donate their time and energy toward beautification and maintenance of several public garden areas in the Village of Lewiston, including Hennepin Park, the Lewiston Historical Museum and the Lewiston Public Library.
