Lewiston 'Knit-Wits' launch knitting club

Knitting groups and clubs are cropping up everywhere, and a new group of knitters, the "Lewiston Knit-Wits," has launched a new knitting club in Lewiston. The club will meet bimonthly, on the second and fourth Wednesday. The group is open to all ages and levels of experience. The meeting venue is the Historic Opera Hall, 736 Center St. (second floor)

The purpose of the club is to gather together knitters of all ages and levels of experience to share their projects and inspire one another. If you are knitter, you probably have loads of yarn and patterns in a cupboard or bin just waiting to be used. Here's your chance to get knitting and start creating beautiful items.

One can work on their independent projects or propose a project to the group and teach it. If you would like to learn to knit, just bring some yarn and needles and you'll find a mentor to get you started.

The aim of the group is to have a relaxed and enjoyable evening, connect with others and simply have fun. Tea, coffee and cookies will be available. The Lewiston "Knit-Wits" will inspire and learn from each other, meet twice a month, and make it a fun night out.

This group is open to the public and free of charge. However, free will offerings to the Historic Opera Hall preservation fund donation jar will be graciously accepted.
