Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center announced Monday that it will be providing primary care services to former patients of Dr. Matthew A. Bennett.

Memorial is working with its primary care providers to ensure those patients have timely access to health care services and are provided with reliable, quality care.

The medical center is working with the landlord to reopen the North Tonawanda office that formerly housed Bennett's practice, pending state Department of Health approval. In the interim and as a temporary measure, patient appointments will be scheduled at the Summit Family Health Center in Suite 500 of the Summit Healthplex on Williams Road, Wheatfield.

"The sudden closing of a large primary care practice creates significant hardship for patients and for the community. Our goal is to assure the availability and continuity of quality preventive and primary care services," said Memorial President and CEO Joseph A. Ruffolo.

"We are in the process of notifying patients that their medical records are in our custody," he added. "Patients can be assured that their records will be treated with the utmost confidentiality throughout this process."

To schedule an appointment, patients should call 716-278-4499.
