'Once On This Island Jr.' free to attend

Now in its eighth year, In Good Company Productions will perform "Once On This Island Jr." in Tonawanda at the Miller Bandshell in Niawanda Park this summer.

All performances start at 7 p.m. and are free to the public. The show dates are Aug. 6, 7, 9, 13, 14 and 16. Bring a lawn chair and prepare to be entertained by a cast of more than 80 performers.

Niagara-Wheatfield residents, Andrew Zuccari, Dominic Ligammari, Grace and Claire Firzak, Olivia and Allison Tober, Kennedy Miller, Amelia Andrews and Christie Faller will sing and dance their way into your hearts with this poignant story and it's catchy Caribbean-flavored score. In almost non-stop song and dance, the show tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. After Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

In Good Company Productions is a local community theater group created to help kids gain confidence through theater.
