The Niagara Pioneer Soccer League is getting ready to host the Northern Customs Services 2012 International Soccer Tournament on June 30 and July 1 at Fort Niagara.

Niagara County's largest and longest running annual youth sporting event hosts 158 teams this year (up from 152) with more than 2,800 athletes from across New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ontario. Boys and girls from ages 10 to 19 will compete in 255 games on 20 fields at the fort.

NCS estimates more than 10,000 people will attend over the two days of competition. With enrollment up once again from previous years, organizers are looking forward to another successful event.

On the local front, 14 teams from Niagara Pioneer and two from the Niagara Falls PAL Club will participate.
