The Town of Wheatfield's all-volunteer Comprehensive Planning Implementation Task Force, with the cooperation of the Town Planning Board, has completed a two-year study to update the Town of Wheatfield Master Plan, according to Richard W. Muscatello, task force facilitator.

Prior to soliciting the approval of the Town Board, it was unanimously agreed to present the contents of the plan to the residents of the town, via public comment opportunity, soliciting their concerns and/or recommendations. Should the necessity arise the plan can be amended prior to submission to the Town Board. The master plan updating implements new laws and ordinances, as well as creating town projects, and activities such as the creation of a Farmers' Market.

The public input hearing will take place 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Wheatfield Community Center.

All residents are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions, Muscatello said. Focus groups supporting the task force will be present to address specific concerns or comments from residents with particular needs.

The focus groups are: Planning Board, code enforcement officers, economic development, agriculture, greenspace, Parks and Recreation, and veterans memorial.
