Niagara County History Center is hosting its annual spring festival titled "Strawberries & Antiques," on the grounds of the History Center at 215 Niagara St., Lockport. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 2.
Executive Director Melissa Dunlap hopes you plan to come, rain or shine, and enjoy a delicious menu, which includes Strawberry shortcake and a Chiavetta's chicken barbecue with takeout or dine-in options. Dinners will include a barbecue half chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, roll with butter and free Tim Hortons coffee. Also available at a great price, Strawberry shortcake with real whipped cream; hot dogs; pop and water.
Dunlap said, "Our special day now features an antique appraisal event, in the fashion of 'Antiques Roadshow.' "
Several antique dealers will be on hand to offer written appraisals of antiques and collectibles from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Entertainment for the day will include the big band sound of the Lockport Community Band from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by easy listening music provided by the Heenan Brothers until 3 p.m.
Other festivities will include period crafters, children's activities, updated exhibits at 215 Niagara St., and special tours of the Col. Bond House and Erie Canal Discovery Center.
