The Castellani Art Museum of Niagara University's popular "Meet Me at the CAM" film and lecture series is back for a fourth year with "Paris: La Ville Lumière (The City of Light)." This year's series celebrates the Castellani Art Museum's loan of Pablo Picasso's 1905 drawing, "Leo Stein," for the exhibition "The Steins Collect: Matisse, Picasso and the Parisian Avant-Garde."

This prestigious international exhibition opened May 21, 2011, at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, then traveled to Paris where it was on display as Les Stein ou l'invention de l'art modern at RMN Galeries Nationales. The final venue is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where the exhibition will be on view through June 3.

"It is a great honor to loan a work for this exhibition," said director Kate Koperski. "The selection of Picasso's drawing, 'Leo Stein,' clearly demonstrates the quality of artwork in our permanent collection. The Castellani Art Museum often loans works to other institutions, but this is one of the most prominent exhibitions we've been asked to be a part of."

This year's "Meet Me at the CAM" series will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, with a special guest speaker from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mary Clare McKinley (pictured) is a research assistant in the museum's department of Modern and Contemporary Art. For the past several years she has worked as a member of the curatorial team for "The Steins Collect: Matisse, Picasso, and the Parisian Avant-Garde." McKinley will give a behind-the-scenes look at the many kinds of work, and challenges faced in assembling an exhibition of this scope and magnitude.

"Meet Me at the CAM" art history programs run from 10 a.m. to noon and feature films, guest speakers and facilitated discussions. Light refreshments are served. Admission is free, but Castellani Art Museum membership is required to attend. Membership applications may be downloaded from www.castellaniartmuseum.org and membership sign-up is available at the registration table at each lecture.
