Erie County Sheriff's Office Reports for April 6, 2012

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 164 calls from March 24 to 30. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.

Saturday, March 24

•Greenway Road, youth activity - A complainant stated several youths in the area were ringing doorbells as a prank. Patrol checked the area, but was unable to locate the youths.

Sunday, March 25

•Grand Island Boulevard, criminal mischief/graffiti - An employee at a doughnut shop stated that a subject damaged the bathrooms by writing graffiti in numerous spots. The deputies' investigation led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Grand Island man for criminal mischief in the third degree (a class E felony), making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument. The subject was arraigned in Town of Grand Island Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $2,500 cash/$5,000 secured bond.

•Carl Road, larceny - A complainant stated that sometime during the day, someone stole two bicycles from her porch.

Monday, March 26

•Staley Road, fraud - A complainant stated that an unknown person was able to hack into his computer and retrieve personal information. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

Wednesday, March 28

•Havenwood Lane, suspicious incident - A complainant stated that an unknown person appeared to have been attempting to steal items from a vehicle, but was scared away when the complainant's garage door began to open. Patrol checked the area, but was unable to locate any subjects.
