The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 150 calls from Feb. 18 to 24. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.
Sunday, Feb. 19
•I-190, drunk driving - Following a traffic stop, deputies arrested a 39-year-old man for driving while intoxicated. The man refused to submit a sample of his breath for chemical analysis. He was issued traffic tickets returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.
•Alvin Road, criminal mischief - Employees at an automobile dealership stated that sometime during the night someone smashed windows to vehicles located on the sales lot. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Thursday, Feb. 23
•East River Road, criminal mischief - A complainant stated that sometime during the night someone drove over his lawn with a vehicle, causing minor damage.
Friday, Feb. 24
•Grand Island Boulevard, burglary - Deputies responded to an alarm ringing at a gas station. Upon arrival, deputies located broken windows and a door that had been pried open. Deputies checked the business, but no one was located inside. According to the owner, nothing appeared missing. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
