Lew-Port kindergarten registration begins

The Lewiston-Porter School District has announced it will be holding kindergarten registration this month and a kindergarten orientation program for new students in May.

Primary Education Center Principal Tamara Larson reports that parents of children who will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1 may register their child on the following dates:

•Tuesday, March 13, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. for children whose last names begin with the letters A through F, and 1:30 to 2:45 for children whose last names begin with G through M.

•Wednesday, March 14, 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. for children whose last names begin with the letters N through S, and 1:30 to 2:45 for children whose last names begin with T through Z.

Parents are requested to furnish the following documents at the time of registration: the student's proof age - a birth certificate or passport; parent photo ID - a driver's license or passport; proof of residency - two of the following: a vehicle registration card, vehicle insurance card, utility bill, medical insurance card, homeowners insurance statement, payroll document or other proofs of residency at an address such as a lease, purchase offer, etc.; and the child's record of immunizations.

Parents are advised it is not necessary for their to children to accompany them at the March registration as they will be attending the May orientation program.
