Registration under way for annual Presti Karate Kid's-Only Karate Tournament

Presti Karate Centers is now accepting registrations for its annual Kid's-Only Karate Tournament, to be held on Saturday, March 24, at Niagara Catholic High School, 520 66th St.

The tournament will see children ages 6 to 18 competing in kata, sparring and weapons kata. All early registrants receive a free

T-shirt. Sponsors are still needed for this year's event. More than 300 people are expected to attend.

According to Presti Karate, 100 percent of the money raised from the event goes toward children's programs. This year recipients are Kick Start Kids, the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club, Child Advocacy and Community Missions. To date, Presti Karate has raised more than $76,000.

As a part of this event, all parents of Presti students will receive free karate lessons throughout April. In addition to the tournament, Presti Karate is offering special free training classes for competitors on Thursday nights.
