SLAPSHOT 2012 provides fun writing experience

The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central is seeking young adults interested in attending the Rotary International District 7090 Student Leadership Award Program for Students High on Training (SLAPSHOT 2012).

Applicants must be between the ages of 15 to 18 years old. SLAPSHOT promotes, honors, celebrates and fosters youth leadership. SLAPSHOT 2012 will be held April 27 to 29, at the Canterbury Hills Conference Centre, Ancaster, Ontario. SLAPSHOT 2012 includes an Adventureworks-High Ropes Program.

SLAPSHOT offers the opportunity for 100 high school students throughout Rotary District 7090 to come together for an experience in fun, fellowship and learning. The program is founded on Rotary ideals and serves as a strong link on the continuum of Rotary's youth leadership development opportunities - Youth Exchange, RYLA, Early Act, Interact and Rotaract. Students attending any public, private or charter school within the Niagara-Wheatfield, Starpoint or Wilson school districts are encouraged to apply. Other applicants will be referred to the appropriate Rotary Club

Interested students should submit an essay detailing their community involvement and why they would be excellent candidates for SLAPSHOT 2012. Mail essays to the Rotary Club of Niagara County Central, P.O. Box 204, Sanborn, N.Y. 14132 by Jan. 19. The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central will interview all interested individuals. The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central will pay all expenses for this event.
