Custode plays for Salvation Army

Local jazz trumpeter Lew Custode will once again donate his talents to help raise funds for this year's Salvation Army Christmas Fund Drive.

Custode, best know for his work with the "Barroom Buzzards" (Buffalo Music Hall of Fame) and "The Custode & Parisi Jazz Trio" (Best Jazz Act, Artvoice Best of Buffalo 2011), will perform holiday music at various Salvation Army kettle stand locations throughout Niagara County.

This is the fourth year that the jazz musician will be participating in the fundraiser.

"Last year it was nice to see so many friends stop by the kettle, catch up on old times and most importantly contribute to the fundraiser. It is very rewarding to participate, and it is my way of giving back to the community that I grew up in," Custode said.

This year, the Salvation Army kettle stands will be set up at all TOPS Niagara Falls and Lewiston locations, and Sam's Club, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Ollie's Bargain Basement in Niagara Falls. Look for Custode playing at various locations through Dec. 25
