The Erie County Sheriff's Office reports its officers responded to 197 calls from Nov. 12 to Nov. 18. Below is a sampling of only those incidents the ECSO reported to the Island Dispatch.
Saturday, Nov. 12
•Grand Island Boulevard, narcotics - Following a traffic stop, deputies arrested a 25-year-old man from Buffalo, after a Department of Motor Vehicles check showed his registration was suspended. The man was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree after he was found to be in possession of a narcotic drug. The man was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Town of Grand Island Court.
•Baseline Road, larceny - A complainant stated that an unknown person or persons stole a lawnmower from his front lawn, possibly thinking it was set out for garbage.
•Whitehaven Road, loud music - A complainant stated someone was playing loud music in the area. Deputies located the source of the music and advised the subject.
Sunday, Nov. 13
•Long Road, larceny - Neighbors reported that sometime during the night someone stole items from numerous unlocked vehicles in the area.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
•Grand Island Boulevard, larceny - A complainant stated that an unknown male stole various groceries from a supermarket. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
Thursday, Nov. 17
•Town Hall Terrace, suspicious person - A complainant stated a suspicious male was walking around the apartment complex. Patrol was unable to locate the subject.
Friday, Nov. 18
•Grand Island Boulevard, criminal mischief - A complainant stated that an unknown person damaged the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority bus stop shelters on Grand Island Boulevard. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
