Candidates sought for soon-to-be vacant post

The election of Councilwoman Mary Cooke to town supervisor has necessitated a search for another council member.

The third year of Cooke's unexpired council term will be served by a person appointed for 2012 on Jan. 2, 2012, at the first Town Board meeting of the year. This appointment will be made by incoming-Supervisor Cooke and councilmen Raymond Billica, Richard Crawford and Gary Roesch. The final remaining year in Cooke's unexpired term, 2013, will be served by the winner of a general election in November of 2012.

Citizens interested in the council seat should send a resume and a letter of interest outlining their credentials to: Mary Cooke, 2255 Baseline Road, Grand Island, NY 14072, or via email to[email protected], [email protected],[email protected] and [email protected].

Material sent by mail must be postmarked no later than Nov. 30, and material sent by email must arrive before midnight on Nov. 30.
