The Project Future Center, located at 2720 Niagara Falls Blvd., in Wheatfield, will hold its "Fall Kickoff" on Saturday, Sept. 10, and through the end of the month.

Project Future will offer new eight-week introductory programs, including yoga, taught by Deb Kristich; tai chi for health and fitness, taught by master instructor Fred Utech; youth martial arts and self-defense, taught by master instructor and Project Future Director Bob Heisner; and women's practical self defense, taught by Jennifer Tanguay, fourth degree black belt.

The Project Future Center also is offering introductory kick boxercise classes and a special 50-years-and-up martial arts and self-defense class.

Cost is $75. All introductory classes include a free trial workout. Students who go on to register for a six-month program receive a $75 discount.

"Since opening in 1990, we have been able to not only teach martial arts and self-defense, but to instill strong character and leadership in our youth and make a positive impact in our community through our numerous outreach programs and demonstrations," Heisner said.

He credits Project Future's success to its method of instruction and the more than 25 black belt instructors.
