Town of Lewiston Police Blotter for July 16, 2011

The following activity occurred Monday, July 4, to Sunday, July 10, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. LPD reported a total of 124 responses during this period.

Monday, July 4

•Water Street, assist. LPD on location with U.S. Border Patrol on a vehicle stop. No problems reported.

•800 block of Oriole Lane, missing person found. LPD reported an individual listed as missing earlier was located at a nursing home in Batavia.

•400 block of Cayuga Street, suspicious person. Caller reported solicitors in the area selling alarm systems. Patrol located the individuals who were found without a permit; subjects left town without incident.

•4700 block of Porter Center Road, aggravated harassment. A 46-year-old female was listed as a victim/complainant; suspect unknown.

•2600 block of Upper Mountain Road, suspicious person. White male driving a vehicle with a Minnesota registration reported in the area selling books. Subject had a valid permit.

•Seventh and Center streets, car-pedestrian accident. Statements taken; report filed.

•2300 block of Saunders Settlement Road, check area for a possible intoxicated driver. Patrol reports the subject as gone on its arrival.

•Locations on the 4500 block of Creek Road and the 500 block of Mountain View Drive, fireworks complaints. Both calls resolved by patrol.

Tuesday, July 5

•800 block of Pletcher Road, harassment complaint. Patrol spoke with a 44-year-old male who reported his 18-year-old daughter had been receiving threatening messages.

•Creek Road and Legacy Drive, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the arrest of a 43-year-old male for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Bail of $250 assigned and driver remanded to Niagara County Jail. LPD K-9 unit search of vehicle conducted. Report filed.

•600 block of Raymond Drive, suspicious vehicle. Patrol reported a 2001 Honda CRV parked at the end of the driveway with its hazard lights going off. Vehicle found registered at that address. Patrol cleared.

•4600 block of Creek Road, car-mailbox accident. Statement taken from the driver and a female involved. Report filed.

•LPD office, fraud complaint. Statement taken from a female; LPD investigation to continue.

•Village locations, 20 arrests for open container violations. Locations included South Eighth Street; Tuscarora Street; Niagara Street; Center Street; South First Street; South Fourth Street; Cayuga Street, and Center and South First streets. Arrested were: a 28-year-old female; a 31-year-old female; a 26-year-old male; two 21-year-old females; two males and one female (no ages listed); a 23-year-old female; a 21-year-old male; a 37-year-old female; a 31-year-old male; a 30-year-old female; a 28-year-old male; four 20-year-old males; a 22-year-old female; a 45-year-old male and a 24-year-old male. All issued appearance tickets for Lewiston Town Court. Separate reports filed.

•Cayuga Street, underage possession of alcohol arrests. Patrol reported the separate arrests of two males. Appearance tickets issued for Lewiston Town Court. Reports filed.

•800 block of Pletcher Road, missing person. Patrol listed a female as missing and a male as a person involved.

•900 block of Mohawk Street, suspicious person. Caller reported a solicitor with a permit; subject gone on patrol's arrival.

•800 block of Seneca Street, harassment. Suspect left prior to patrol's arrival; no report wanted.

Wednesday, July 6

•4400 block of Creek Road, criminal mischief. Statement taken from a 46-year-old female who reported her home and a motorcycle on the property were egged at 1 a.m. by an unknown individual. No reported wanted.

•LPD office, harassment complaint. Statement taken from a 78-year-old male regarding a male suspect. Incident documented for future court proceedings.

•LPD office, follow-up. Statement taken from a female regarding a male suspect, on follow-up to an assault complaint that occurred on Green Road.

•4400 block of Lower River Road, animal problem. Caller reported observing a raccoon that appeared sick. Patrol searched area with negative results.

•Printup Road, vehicle/traffic stop. Patrol reported the pullover/arrest of a 17-year-old female for having a suspended registration. Appearance ticket issued for Lewiston Town Court. Report filed.

Thursday, July 7

•800 block of Center Street, assist EMS. LPD on location for an overdose. Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. transported an individual to Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center.

•Tuscarora Road, assist. LPD on location with State Police for a felony traffic stop. Three suspects taken into custody on robbery suspicions. Suspects taken to State Police Niagara for questioning/processing.

•LPD office, harassment complaint. Statement taken from a 35-year-old male regarding a 17-year-old female suspect. Patrol advised the suspect to refrain from future contact. Report filed.

•Saunders Settlement and Garlow roads, property damage accident. Vehicle went off the road and struck trees. Vehicle towed.

•700 block of Oxbow Lane, check-the-welfare. Patrol reports advising a caller to stop what it considered borderline harassment at the address.

Friday, July 8

•North Third Street, suspicious persons. Patrol reported four males took off running as it drove up. Negative results on follow-up search.

•LPD office, stolen plate complaint. A 56-year-old male reported a plate stolen from a vehicle while at Artpark Tuesdays.

•LPD office, fraud complaint. Patrol spoke with a female regarding an incident that occurred on the 400 block of River Walk drive. Suspect unknown; investigation to continue.

•2500 block of Ridge Road, fraud complaint. Statement taken from a 43-year-old female. Suspect unknown.

•4700 block of Model City Road, back check complaint. Statement taken from a male regarding a female.

•1600 block of Upper Mountain Road, custody problem. Patrol spoke with a male and female, both 30 years old; no further details.

•1900 block of Saunders Settlement Road, harassment. Statement taken from a 20-year-old female regarding two female suspects. Report filed.

•4900 block of Ridgeview Drive, possible burglary in progress. Statement taken from a 65-year-old male; four male suspects identified. Patrol reported a quantity of marijuana was found on the scene and secured for evidence. Investigation to continue.

Saturday, July 9

•Callan and Elliot drives, suspicious person. Area checked with negative results.

•700 block of Ridge Road, check vehicle in a driveway with its parking lights on. Patrol reports the homeowner was unable to make contact. No further details.

•500 0 block of Baer Road, assist. LPD K-9 unit on location to assist with tracking. Two juveniles were detained and transferred to Niagara County Sheriff's Office for an interview.

•400 block of Dutton Drive, larceny. Statement taken from a 64-year-old male who reported the theft of gas taken from a boat two weeks earlier. Report filed.

•2800 block of Upper Mountain Road, larceny. Statement taken from a 54-year-old female who reported that a bottle of whiskey was taken from campers overnight.

•Upper Mountain and Meyers Hill Road, reckless driver. Plate number obtained and driver located on the 2600 block of Lower Mountain Road. Ride home for the driver arranged.

•100 block of South Water Street, assist. LPD on location for a female who was locked inside the women's bathroom on the Lewiston docks. Lewiston No. 1 also called in to assist.

•2000 block of Mount Hope Road, harassment complaint. Patrol reports being unable to locate on its first response as a large party was under way. On its second response, statement taken from a 32-year-old female regarding a male suspect. Report filed.

Sunday, July 10

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, assault/robbery. Patrol reported a female and male as possible suspects who fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, a 1998 Chevy Tahoe, color white. Vehicle located by NCSO at an apartment complex in the Town of Niagara. NCSO handled the report.

•Saunders Settlement and Military roads, assist. LPD on location with NCSO on a report of a man with a long gun in a silver pickup. Subject located and all OK.

•5400 block of Bridgeman Road, domestic/mental health response. Patrol spoke with a 31-year-old female regarding a 34-year-old male, Male taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. LPD removed 16 guns from the premises. Charges to be filed.

•2800 block of Saunders Settlement Road, custody exchange. Patrol reported the exchange occurred without incident. On the call patrol reported the arrest of a 24-yer-old male for third degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Uniform traffic ticket with return Lewiston Town Court date issued.

•700 block of Center Street, criminal mischief complaint. Statement taken from a 30-year-old male; suspect unknown.

•Toohey Park area behind the Village of Lewiston Red Brick School municipal hall, juvenile problem. Patrol located five juveniles in the area. Parents contacted to pick up. Investigation to continue.

•2600 block of Ridge Road, check situation/possible fight. Patrol spoke with the homeowner and reported no problems,

•4400 block of Creek Road, criminal mischief. Patrol spoke with a 25-year-old female who reported her home was egged. Three juveniles were seen leaving the area. No other problems reported.
