With Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of an early spring, Wheatfield Recreation Director Ed Sturgeon wants to remind everyone that there are only three weeks left until Feb. 26 to register for the 2011 baseball/softball season.

This includes co-ed T-ball (ages 5 and 6), co-ed machine pitch (ages 7 and 8), baseball 9 and 10, 11 and 12, 13 to 15 (in house and travel) and 16 to 18 travel.

On the girls' side, there is softball for ages 9 to 11, 12 to 14, and 15 to 17.

Register at the Recreation Building on Nash Road Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration also is available at the Youth Center behind Town Hall Monday to Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. or Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Anyone registering after Feb. 26 will incur a $10 late fee per participant and will be placed on a waiting list. Sturgeon said he is looking forward to seeing both returning players and new ones at registration.
