Lewiston Police Blotter for Jan. 29, 2011

The following incidents occurred Monday, Jan. 17, to Sunday, Jan. 23, as reported by the Lewiston Police Department. A total of 98 calls were answered by LPD during this period.

Monday, Jan. 17

•300 block of North Second Street, juvenile problem. Patrol spoke to the parents about a party. All juveniles went home and situation resolved.

•Oneida and North Fifth streets, suspicious person. Patrol encountered a 31-year-old male who was reported walking home from a nearby bar/restaurant. No problems reported.

•800 block of Pletcher Road, accident report. Patrol advised of an accident that occurred on Lewiston Hill. Statement taken from the driver; report filed.

•100 block of Portage Road, larceny. Statement taken from a 24-year-old female. Report filed.

•Swann Road, east bound, reckless driver. Patrol checked for a suspicious vehicle; no problems.

•5900 block of Kline Road, emergency medical services assist. Patrol on location with Lewiston No. 2 Volunteer EMS for a possible overdose. A 49-year-old female was taken to EM-Star at Mount St. Mary's Hospital and Health Center for treatment.

•400 block of Plain Street, check situation. Patrol checked the area for a possible prowler, with negative results.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

•900 block of Hillside Drive, automated external defibrillator call. Patrol reported Lewiston No. 1 Volunteer Fire Co. EMS transported an elderly male to Mount St. Mary's EM-Star for treatment. Patrol cleared.

•5300 block of Military Road, Mount St. Mary's EM-Star, disorderly patient. Patrol reported the 49-year-old female from the earlier Kline Road possible overdose call was giving the staff problems. Patrol calmed the patient down and advised her to cooperate with the staff or she'd be arrested.

•Unspecified location, arrest. Patrol reported the arrest of a 21-year-old male from an incident in July 2010. Patrol reported the arrest was part of a plea deal with the Niagara County District Attorney's office.

•4000 block of Lower River Road, one-vehicle accident. Statement taken from the driver; report filed.

•200 block of North Fifth Street, suspicious male. Statement taken from a female; no further details.

•LPD office, unauthorized vehicle use complaint. Statement taken from a 79-year-old female regarding a 48-year-old male. Information logged.

•Ward Road, check-the-welfare for an intoxicated male walking northbound. Subject located at Ward and Lockport roads. All OK; a friend will drive him home.

•4800 block of Curtiss Court North, assist. Patrol on location with Lewiston No. 1 for a fire response. A 57-year-old male was listed as the homeowner; minor incident reported. Patrol cleared.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

•Saunders Settlement Road, assist. Patrol on location with Niagara County Sheriff's Office for a hit-run accident. Vehicle fled from Upper Mountain Road area; plate number logged and vehicle located on Saunders Settlement Road. Unidentified subject taken into custody and turned over to NCSO. Vehicle secured.

•100 block of Portage Road, check-the-situation at a restaurant/cafe business. Patrol reported an unknown subject tampered with an outside storage cabinet. Patrol cleared.

•5900 block of Miller Road, stolen vehicle. Statement taken from a 59-year-old male who reported his 1996 Chevy Blazer, color red, was taken overnight. Plate number logged; report filed.

•4000 block of Lower River Road, car-deer accident. Statement taken from the driver; report filed.

•Ridge Road westbound, reckless driver. Unable to locate.

•800 block of Ridge Road, aggravated harassment complaint. Statement taken from a 46-year-old female who reported an unknown individual was texting her lines from the movie "Saw." Report filed.

•5300 block of Military Road, Mount St. Mary's Hospital, attempt to locate. Patrol reported a female party, possibly suicidal, who signed herself out voluntarily but left against her doctor's orders. Patrol to check welfare of the subject if located and refer to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center on a mental health response. Patrol cleared.

•RMP, north lane, one-vehicle accident. Statement taken from the driver; no reported injuries and vehicle towed. Report filed.

•2400 block of Upper Mountain Road, larceny. Statement taken from a 44-year-old male regarding an unknown female who took six to 10 cartons of cigarettes. Report field.

•Seton Hall, Niagara University campus, overdose. State Police on location; patrol assisted.

•Dwyer Ice Arena, NU campus, fight/EMS response. Patrol reported an unidentified hockey player in a fight who landed on the ice with a head injury. Upper Mountain Volunteer EMS on location; subject taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital.

Thursday, Jan. 20

•4600 block of Porter Center Road, check-the-welfare. Individual reported as OK.

•St. Peter's School on the 100 block of North Sixth Street, possible criminal mischief. Statement taken from a 62-year-old male who believes someone tampered with his snow blower. Report filed.

•200 block of North Sixth Street, property damage complaint. Statement taken from a 77-year-old female who reported a bathroom window was broken, possible criminal mischief. Report to follow.

•2200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, unwanted party. Patrol listed a male as a suspect; information forwarded to another officer for further investigation.

•200 block of Oneida Street, criminal mischief complaint. Statement taken from a 59-year-old male who reported a fence on the west side of his property was kicked in earlier. Investigation to continue.

•Lewiston-Military roads, welfare check. Patrol reported a female left her vehicle in drive and exited. Female reported off medication and went voluntarily to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center on a mental health response.

•NU campus, voluntary mental health response. Patrol gave a courtesy ride to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Patrol cleared.

•800 block of Hillside Drive, follow-up. Patrol interviewed a possible suspect from the Oneida Street criminal mischief complaint. Investigation to continue.

Friday, Jan. 21

•RMP, one-vehicle accident. Statement taken from the driver; plate number logged. Report filed.

•4700 block of Lower River Road, alarm response. NCSO on location; patrol assisted. All secure.

•River Walk drive, suspicious vehicle. Patrol reports coming across a vehicle parked in the road and a 20-year-old male listed as the driver who was using the Internet from a nearby house. Plate number logged; patrol cleared.

•Sweet Home High School in Amherst, LPD K-9 on search detail. No further information.

•1800 block of Saunders Settlement Road, four-vehicle accident. Statements taken from all drivers; vehicles Nos. 1 and 2 towed. Reports filed.

•5500 block of Walmore Road, unwanted party. Statement taken from a 50--year-old male regarding a 51-year-old female and another suspect who was gone on patrol's arrival.

•Townline and Albright roads, one-vehicle injury accident/DWI arrest. Patrol reported a 62-year-old male was taken to Mount St. Mary's EM-Star for evaluation/treatment. Driver placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated; blood alcohol content testing performed at Mount St. Mary's; no further details on the arrest. Vehicle secured and utility pole repaired.

•1500 block of Ridge Road, larceny complaint. Statement taken from a 78-year-old female regarding a 24-year-old female and a 29-year-old male listed as suspects. Report field.

•700 block of Upper Mountain road, alarm response at a town water storage building. Building checked and open door found. Town water department on location.

•1200 block of Saunders Settlement Road, domestic dispute. Statement taken from a 30-year-old female and a 32-year-old male listed as a person involved. Report filed.

•Reports of vehicles in ditches. Locations on the I-190 on-ramp, the 100 block of Saunders Settlement Road, Townline and Albright roads, Route 429 (two calls), and Model City and Ridge roads.  Calls addressed.

Saturday, Jan. 22

•70 block of Genesee Street in Lockport, possible harassment. Patrol spoke with a male regarding another male. Complainant advised to contact the Lockport Police Department.

•800 block of Orchard Drive, suicide response. Patrol reported a 51-year-old male as a victim and listed a 46-year-old male on the call. Report to follow.

•1100 block of Saunders Settlement Road, unwanted person. Statement taken from a 36-year-old female regarding a 40-year-old male, who left without incident.

•880 block of Foxwood Drive, mental health EMS response. Patrol reported a 25-year-old male was taken to Mount St. Mary's Hospital for evaluation.

•1500 block of Ridge Road, check-the-welfare/warrant execution. Patrol reported negative results on serving on a 29-year-old male.

•RMP; two-car accident. Statements taken from both drivers. Report filed.

Sunday, Jan. 23

•5900 block of Garlow Road, mental health response. Patrol reports a 15year-old male juvenile was taken to ECMC for evaluation. Report filed.

•Sweet Home and Divide roads, report of three suspicious males walking. No problems found.

•800 block of Center Street, Alcohol Beverage Control violation/follow-up at a bar/restaurant. Patrol advised both owners of state laws.

•Garlow and Mount Hope roads, vehicle in a ditch. Patrol reports unspecified uniform traffic tickets were issued to the unidentified driver. Vehicle towed; report filed.

•Reports of vehicles in ditches. Locations on Saunders Settlement and Walmore roads, Creek and Pletcher roads, Upper Mountain Road and Marywood Lane, Military Road, and Swann Road. All calls addressed.

•Saunders Settlement Road, reckless driver. Patrol reported a vehicle pursuit involving a 65-year-old male driver heading east on Saunders Settlement Road. Driver issued five unspecified uniform traffic tickets. Arraignment held at Town of Porter Court; bail of $250/$500 assigned and driver taken to NCSO. Report filed.

•4200 block of Lower River Road, one-car accident. Statement taken from the driver; report filed.

•900 block of Upper Mountain road, burglary. Statement taken from a 46-year-old male regarding an unknown suspect. Report filed.

•4800 block of Creek Road, oven fire. Patrol reported fire limited to oven gloves left inside oven. Situation resolved.

•4700 block of Creek Road, possible domestic or juvenile problem. Patrol spoke with a 31-year-old female; situation resolved.

•300 block of Oak Street, officer requested. Patrol spoke with a 51-year-old male regarding his son's Facebook status. Patrol cleared.
