HSBC Arena in Buffalo and Niagara University's Dwyer Ice Arena took center stage for hockey fans from Dec. 26 through Jan. 5 for the holding of the 2011 IBHF U20 World Juniors Hockey Championships.

Lewiston Police Chief Chris Salada reports that there were months of preparation to ensure the safety of those attending events at Dwyer.

"All levels in the realm of law enforcement and public safety worked together to make this event a success," Salada said. "If you attended a game at Niagara University, you would see a variety of different uniforms, including Niagara University Campus Safety, Lewiston Police, Niagara County sheriffs and Lewiston Police."
