Town of Niagara Police Blotter for Nov. 18

The
following is a sampling of the calls the Town of Niagara Police responded to
between Nov. 1 and 7. During that time period, 117 calls were received.
Monday, Nov. 1
- 2000
block of Military Road, larceny. A 21-year-old Niagara Falls man was caught on
camera leaving a store with merchandise.
- Joanne
Circle, property accident. A bus driver was found to have struck a dog while
dropping off students. The students informed the driver that she hit the dog,
so she returned to scene of the accident to find the dog deceased.
- 5100
block of Sherwood Drive, aid-EMS. A 90-year-old Niagara Falls female fell and
injured her arm. Rural Metro was on scene to transport her.
Tuesday, Nov. 2
- 8700
block of Third Avenue, aid-assist EMS. A daughter called and stated that while
on the phone with her mother, the phone went dead. Upon pulling on location, it
was found that the phone company was working on their high lines.
- 1700
block of Military Road, property accident. Two cars were driving northbound on
Military Road when a car that was in front of vehicle No. 2 suddenly veered
into the HSBC drive-thru lot without using its blinker. Both cars were forced
to slam on their brakes. Vehicle No. 1 then slid into vehicle No. 2. No
injuries and no tows required.
- 7800
block of Porter Road, vehicle/traffic stop for speeding. A driver tried to lose
the vehicle in a business' parking lot. The driver had a suspended license, and
no address change on the license or registration. The registration was expired,
and there was no proof of insurance. Six UTT's were issued and the vehicle was
towed.
Wednesday, Nov. 3
- 1900
block of Tuscarora Road, larceny. Patrol responded to location for a report of
a larceny from a shed. The victim stated that he went to his shed, which he
keeps unlocked, and noticed his lawn mower missing. The victim advised patrol
that the last time he saw his lawn mower was approximately two weeks ago. There
are no known witnesses or suspects at his time. The value of the lawn mower is
approximately $200.
- Military
Road business area, vehicle/traffic stops. A number of tickets were issued.
Violations included: speeding, non-transparent side windows, passing stop
signs, headlights out, and right turns through red arrows and signs.
Thursday, Nov. 4
- 3000
block of Military Road, local law violation. Patrol was dispatched to a
location for a report of a business driveway being misused. The complainant
stated that the party in question has been using the business driveway to park
behind the subject's residence. Patrol noted several building code violations
and notified the Department of Inspections for a follow up.
- 4700
block of Tuscarora Road, aid-citizen assist. An order of protection was served
on a Niagara Falls man. He signed and was given a copy of said order.
- 500
block of D Street, aid EMS for a 23-month-old infant with a high fever. Rural
Metro was on scene.
Friday, Nov. 5
- 9900
block of Porter Road, false alarm. A false fire alarm was set off at the
Niagara Falls Airport. Fire respondents were on location.
- Rhode
Island Avenue, vehicle stop. A subject was caught traveling at a speed
approximately 70 miles per hour. A UTT was issued.
- 1900
block of Military Road, criminal warrant. A 51-year-old Niagara Falls man was
under suspicion by mall security and patrol. The man refused securities'
requests to leave the mall. Patrol checked the subject for weapons and violation.
He was advised he had an active warrant out of the town of Niagara. The subject
was taken into custody without incident and transported to TNPD for processing.
The man was then sent to the Niagara County jail without incident.
Saturday Nov. 6
- 7400
block of Porter Road, noise-loud party. Patrol dispatched for a complaint of a
loud party. Upon arrival, patrol encountered the homeowner who agreed to turn
down the music.
- 40
block of Anthony Drive, domestic violence. A victim stated that she woke up her
boyfriend so he could go to he doctor's office. She states that her boyfriend,
a 33-year-old Niagara Falls man, became upset that he had locked his keys in
the car and began to punch her in the head repeatedly in front of their 3- and
5-year-old sons. The man then fled the scene. Officers checked his mother's
address with negative results. The victim was transported to Niagara Falls
Memorial Medical Center for swelling, redness, and headaches.
- 6100
block of North Whitman Drive, animal complaint. The complainant states that he
was chased by his neighbor's doberman while walking out to his car. The
complainant advised to call the SPCA the next morning.
Sunday, Nov. 7
- 2000
block of Military Road, disorder disturbance. There was a report of a fight in
a business' parking lot. Patrol checked outside and in a bar, with negative
results. Patrons stated that the participants ran out the back door when the
police were called.
- 50
block of Expressway Village, aid-check situation. Patrol responded to a
business for a report of smoke being seen from he I-190. Patrol located he
source, which was coming from a local house where leaves were being burned.
Patrol advised and cleared the area without incident.
- 1900 block of
Military Road, road-traffic light. Patrol dispatched to check the traffic light
in font of a business. The caller stated that the northbound, left turn arrow
was malfunctioning, due to him having to wait an inordinate amount of time to
turn left. Patrol observed numerous cycles of said light and determined it was
operating normally.
