A total of 120 cars filled the pit area last Friday night for night No. 1 of King of the Hill weekend. Beginning on Thursday night, campers began to arrive for the 19th annual event, bringing to a close the 2010 season at the Big R. The Friday event hosted the Sportsman, Streetstocks, 4 Bangers, Firehall Enduro, and Micro Sprints presented by PJ Trailer Sales.

Don Spatorico of Ransomville took top honors aboard the 25-lap Original Pizza Logs Sportsman main event. Using a move to the outside of Greg Panunte on lap 18, Spatorico was able to put some distance between himself and the field over the course of the final five laps. Panunte came home in second followed by Jesse Cotriss, BJ Willard, Nate Reynolds and Greg Martin. The top six finishers automatically advanced to the redraw for the KOH 100.

Brandon Sherwood of Sanborn won a barnburner of a race aboard the first 15-lap Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main event. While Sherwood found himself on the front row for the feature go, the win would not come easy as Jaren Israel applied heavy pressure for the final five circuits. Sherwood was able to hold the No. 10 at bay and collect the win. Israel came home in second followed by Mark Loveland, Scott Krull, Mike Greenawalt and Gerald Poole.

Those top six automatically transferred to the redraw in the King of the Hill 100. A total of 18 cars took the green. Derrick Borkenhagen's bad luck continued as he suffered a flat right front tire after contact was made with the Israel machine at midway.

Pat Dell took the lead at the drop of the green and held it the entire distance aboard the second 15-lap Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstock main. It was the third win for Dell on the 2010 season. Jacob Stefanski had a great run aboard his PJ Trailer Sales No. 23, coming home second. The 2010 champion, Chris Burek, finished in third followed by Mike Short, Don Rappleyea and Bill Bleich. Nineteen cars took the initial green.

Al Bogino captured the win in the 20-lap Original Pizza Logs Micro Sprint main event. Bogino took the lead away from Nick Cooper on lap nine and quickly pulled away from the field. Bogino took home the win followed by Cooper and Daryl Ruggles. Kyle Wendt and Cooper won the qualifying heats.

Jim Harbison of Ransomville was crowned the 2010 Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Champion after taking home the win in the 12-lap main. Harbison came into the night needing a win to have a chance at the title. With that win and a little help from his friends Harbison was able to take home the title. Harbison took the lead away from Hoyt Desso with a handful of laps remaining and was never challenged after that point. Desso held on for second followed by Jim Stone, Jonathon Stoelting and Gerry Gipp.

Gary Watier was crowned the 2010 4 Banger champion after coming home in the seventh position. Watier simply needed to keep his nose clean in order to claim his first ever title. The beginning stages of the 12-lap main gave his crew and family a cause for pause, but when the dust settled the 86 finished well enough to garner him the championship.

Marika Morris of Niagara Falls won her first ever feature main aboard the Gippsters Collision 4 Banger division. Morris took the lead early on and was never seriously challenged after that point. Morris took the win in the 12-lap main over Jamie Woods, Eugene Washburn, Mike Pahl and Dave Nashwinter.
