To celebrate the premiere of the Western New York episode of "Man v. Food" on Wednesday, the Riverstone Grill on Grand Island held a "Man v. Media" food competition for charity. Prior to the show's airing, the media team of Colin Dabkowski (Buffalo News), Bull -- aka Rich Gaenzler  (103.3 the Edge) -- Michael Wooten (WGRZ/Channel 2) and Joshua Maloni (Niagara Frontier Publications/The Sentinel) took on locals Jamie Mayor Raymond, Shawn Garbutt, Steve Voutour and Marilyn Gratto.

Both teams were tasked with consuming spinach dip/chips, stuffed clams, banana peppers, steak-tipped pasta, pulled pork, ribs, barbecue chicken, cole slaw, sweet potato fries, regular fries, crispy onion straws and a mammoth "Bone in the Stone" ribeye steak. The first team to finish would take home money for a charity of choice.

After about 15 minutes, the two teams were neck-in-neck. Soon after, "Man" took home the trophy -- besting media by about two seconds. The victorious team chose the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation as the recipient of the funds, which were donated by the Riverstone Grill and Grand Island Fuccillo Auto Park.

"The Man v. Food" episode featuring the Riverstone Grill and The Silo Restaurant is scheduled to air again on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Monday at 9 p.m. on the Travel Channel. For more on "MVF" host Adam Richman's trip to Western New York, click the links below. (photos by Jen Murray)
