The Wheatfield MUNY AA baseball team split a pair of games last week to get to 5-4 on the season.

Wheatfield lost a close game to New Era 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Fairmount Park in a game that lasted just under an hour and a half.  The locals could not give pitcher Tim Codd any run support as he cruised, giving up one run on two hits with six strikeouts in five innings pitched.  Wheatfield outhit New Era (6-3) but couldn't string together enough to cross a runner as they had only one runner reach third base the entire game.

Wheatfield rebounded with a 3-0 shutout of North Tonawanda Monday night at Delaware Park. Evan Kraft gave up one hit in five innings of work, recording three strikeouts for the win. Mike Ranalli and Joe Brooks both had two hits to keep the locals from wasting another good pitching performance.

Wheatfield will play North Tonawanda again Sunday morning at Fairmount Park at 10:30 a.m.
