Town of Niagara Police Blotter for June 10

The
following is a sampling of the calls the Town of Niagara Police responded to
between May 24 and 30. During that week 152 incidents were investigated.
Monday, May 24
- A
resident of the 8500 block of Porter Road reported that someone had slashed all
four tires on his vehicle and that he had received a text from his
ex-girlfriend that said "Jokes on you, Buddy."
- Patrol
assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office with a disorderly juvenile on the bus
on the 2600 block of Lockport Road.
- Patrol
responded to a reckless driver complaint in the 8200 block of Colonial Drive
Ext. Neighbor reported that vehicle is consistently driven recklessly through
the neighborhood. Operator identified and advised to obey traffic laws.
Tuesday, May 25
- Patrol
reported street lights out at the corner of Tuscarora Road and Effie Drive and
at the 8600 block of Lozina Drive.
- Patrol
responded to a business in the 2400 block of Military Road, where a dog was
reported tied to a pole with no water. Dog appeared fine and was eating upon
interview with owner.
- While
doing property checks of town parks, patrol encountered five males playing
basketball at the park on Joann Circle North. They were advised that the park
closed at dusk and left without incident.
Wednesday, May 26
- Patrol
assisted Niagara County Sheriff's Office in attempting to locate a man walking
on Walmore Road who had threatened suicide by shotgun. Man was located on
Niagara Road and taken to Veterans Administration hospital by Rural Metro.
- An
Expressway Village resident reported a neighbor has continually harassed her
over noise made by her children and has reported her to police and child
protection services for no reason. She asked to file harassment charges.
- Wires
down in the 4900 block of Isherwood Drive turned out to be telephone wires.
Homeowner to call Verizon.
Thursday, May 27
- Patrol
responded to Garlow Road at Donna on a report of a cat lying on the side of the
road. No cat found.
- Patrol
responded to a business in the 6700 block of Packard Road where a suspected
counterfeit $100 bill had been received.
- Patrol
installed a child safety seat for a resident.
Friday, May 28
- A
resident of Sabre Drive reported a male trying to come in a back window of her
trailer. Patrol found that the male, who said he was trying to get back into
his own trailer, was on pain pills. No charges were placed.
- A
business in the 10200 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard reported that overnight
someone took four tires and rims from a car parked in the lot.
- A
Tuscarora Road and Effie Drive, patrol advised about six juveniles of the town
curfew and sent them back to Sy Road.
Saturday, May 29
- Patrol
responded to the 3100 block of Apple Court on a report of two males standing in
the middle of the road. Both parties were advised to return to the house so the
neighbors weren't further alarmed.
- A
wallet was found roadside in the 8500 block of Porter Road. Patrol left the
wallet with family members of the owner on Niagara Street in Niagara Falls.
- A
29-year-old Youngstown man was arrested after concealing $41.98 worth of
merchandise and leaving a department store in the 2500 block of Military Road
without paying.
Sunday, May 30
- Patrol
assisted Niagara Falls Police with investigation of a purse snatching in the
Walmart plaza parking lot on Military Road. A search for a male and female in a
white pickup was not successful.
- Patrol
investigated a purse snatching in the Wegmans plaza parking lot on Military
Road. A female suspect reportedly ran toward Military Road and got in a beige
sedan. Victim reported license plate number, but it checked back to a different
make and color vehicle.
- Patrol
dispatched for a fire in the area of Louisiana Avenue. Niagara Active was on
the scene and reported it was a bonfire, which was extinguished.
