Local dancers win awards

Dancers from Time to Dance in the Town of Niagara recently competed at the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge at The Niagara Falls Conference Center.

In the senior division, Bailey Akin won first-place high score for all the senior solos. With this, she won $175 cash, a $100 scholarship and the Entertainment Award.

Teen Division soloist Becca McCartney won a first-place high gold for her acro solo. Bailey Akin and Jillian Fox won high golds for their tap and jazz pieces and took first-place high gold for their lyrical duet, which also won second highest score in the teen high score awards. McCartney and Akin won a first-place high for their acro duet and won third highest score in the teen high score awards. Fox and Akin also won a Fabulous Feet Award for their tap duet.

In Junior Division, Samantha Penman won a gold for her solo.  McCartney, Penman and Madison Akin won golds for their jazz and tap and a first-place high gold for their lyrical piece; along with a costume award.

In Future Hall of Famers, Colin Akin and Kurstin Thorman won first-place high gold in their tap duet and then won their age division in the high score awards, plus a $100 gift certificate to use towards their next season fees. They won the Fabulous Feet Award in their division for their tap dance.
