This Zodiaque Dance Company concert embodies the founding vision of presenting various classical styles alongside new works that stretch the definition of what dance can be. For this 43rd spring concert, Zodiaque presents works by faculty Melanie Aceto, Anne Burnidge, Jenna DelMonte and Kerry Ring. Other contributions include works by two Zodiaque alum (Chicago-based tap artist Richard Ashworth and artist in residence Jon Lehrer) and two guest choreographers (DeSales University Dance faculty Julia Mayo and Bessie Award-winner Jennifer Nugent). All works are captured by the lighting design of Jeremiah King.

Guest costume designer Jen Dasher, in collaboration with theater and dance professor Jon Shimon, have created LED-based costumes for two choreographic works. In the spirit of innovation, this collaboration was funded by the Morris Visiting Artist Fund, and provided an opportunity for computer science and design technology students to develop, code and construct the high-tech costumes.

The UB department of theater and dance's 2016-17 season takes inspiration from one of the five named UB 2020 themes: humanity.
