"The 2016 Give for Greatness grant recipients represent some important grassroots cultural organizations doing great work across Western New York," Arts Services Initiative Executive Director Tod A. Kniazuk said. "Some of these groups serve as cultural hubs in rural communities, some have annual budgets under $10,000 but manage to make a big impact with those limited funds, and some are just getting off the ground. For all of them, however, this grant is a way to encourage and reinforce their great work."

Funds for the Give for Greatness grants were raised through several fundraising events and donations throughout this year, including Lawyers for the Arts, The Rupp Family Foundation and The Kootsie Ball, The Battle of the Corporate Bands, and the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies' Fern and Joel Levin Philanthropic Fund. Support for Give for Greatness as a program of ASI comes from Fund for the Arts.

Fundraising for 2017 will get underway with the annual Lawyers for the Arts event taking place on Saturday, Feb. 25, at The Tralf. More information can be found at www.giveforgreatness.net or www.asiwny.org.
