Premier 2017 to honor Dr. Chandan, James Roscetti

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will honor a beloved physician and a prominent Niagara Falls attorney for their service to the hospital and the community at The 2017 Premier, Memorial's annual dinner gala.

The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, 310 Fourth St., Niagara Falls.

Komal Chandan, M.D., has served the community as a family practice physician since 1992. A former president of Memorial's medical staff, he is known far and wide for the knowledgeable and compassionate care he gives all his patients. Chandan mentors new physicians as a faculty member of Memorial's family practice residency program and serves as medical director of Memorial's Schoellkopf Health Center. In addition he is the medical director for Niagara Rehabilitation & Nursing Center and the Guildcare Adult Day Center.

James Roscetti is a partner in Roscetti & DeCastro P.C. He has been a private practice attorney for more than 40 years and is deputy counsel to the Niagara Falls City School District. A member of Memorial Medical Center's board of directors since 2001, and its chairman since 2009, he also has served as a Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority commissioner and as a trustee for Niagara County Community College, the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club, Niagara Falls Public Library and the YMCA of Niagara Falls.

Roscetti will receive the Nancy Gara Spirit Award. The award is presented in memory of a Western New York banking executive and former medical center board member who was renowned for her positive attitude and personal commitment to serving the community.

Proceeds from the 2017 Premier will be dedicated to Memorial Medical Center's "Full Circle of Heart Care," a comprehensive heart health improvement initiative focusing on inpatient innovations, caregiver education, primary care delivery and care management interventions to combat cardiovascular disease in Niagara and beyond.
