Duck blind drawings announced for state parks

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has announced the annual duck blind drawings for Fort Niagara, Joseph Davis, Wilson Tuscarora and Golden Hill state parks will take place at 6:30 p.m. sharp in the Fort Niagara Park maintenance building on the following days:

  • Oct. 20 and 27
  • Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 23
  • Dec. 1 and 29
  • Jan. 5 and 12

To be eligible to participate in the lottery drawings, hunters must have a current New York state small game license, a federal migratory bird stamp and a harvest information program (HIP) number. Additionally, hunters must have successfully completed the New York state waterfowl identification course. A dog or boat for retrievals is also required.

Fort Niagara blind No. 2 will not be available weekdays due to boat ramp construction. Only one boat ramp at Fort Niagara will be available. The south ramp is currently closed.
