Voters registration deadline nears

The Niagara County Board of Elections informs the last day to register to vote for the Nov. 8 presidential and local elections is Friday, Oct. 14.

The Niagara County Board of Elections regular office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The office will be open for extended hours from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both Oct. 11 and 12.

The Niagara County Board of Elections will also be holding local registration until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, and from 1-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, for voters who have either moved or have never registered to vote.

Voter registration forms are available at all county post offices, banks, public libraries, town and city halls, and at the Niagara County Board of Elections office. They are also available online at www.elections.niagara.ny.us.

Those who have moved since they last voted are required to register to be eligible to vote again.

Those who are going out of the county on Election Day can apply for an absentee ballot by calling 716-438-4043 or 716-438-4040.
