Student teams from the baking and pastry arts program at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute will recreate one of the finalist recipes from the Niagara County Peach "Taste Off" from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

Students will also reinvent the recipe using their unique perspective to make it their own. Each team is allowed to add or take away up to two ingredients from the original recipe. The top three recipes, determined by public vote, will receive an award.

The first baking demonstration will take place at 1:30 p.m. and include baked peaches wrapped in phyllo dough with maple cream sauce presented by chef MaryAnn Guest.

The second demonstration will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will include peach praline upside down cake.

The cost for dessert tastings is $3 per person. In addition, guests can sample peach wine or other wine that pair well with the desserts. The cost for a flight of wines is $3 per person.

Proceeds from the event will go toward student scholarships.
